OUR STORY

Atlantic Knits & Crafts is based in the quiet coastal community of Atlantic, NC.  My name is Laura Welborn, a NC native the artisan that creates each handmade piece of functional art.  I was raised in the mountains of NC, and am proud to hail from a family of Appalachian quilters and crafters.  Since moving to the coast of NC, I have begun to incorporate coastal treasures into my art.

 I strive to use materials produced in NC and other areas of the US.  I often repurpose pieces found in nature to accent my one of a kind baskets and bowls.  You can find these beautiful baskets adorned with driftwood handles, shells and sea glass all found here along the NC coast.  Each basket, bowl, shell and sea glass art piece is a handmade piece that is truly one of a kind.  I hand dye much of the 100% cotton rope that I use, therefore, I can create custom pieces to match your decor.
